PAKISTAN PUNJAB DISTRICT LAHORE TENDER NOTICE 2022

The Lahore high court has given the green signal to award tenders for 5,000 acres of land in Faisalabad and Gilgit-Baltistan region for setting up a separate district in Pakistan Punjab province to boost economic activity in the area.

It is learnt that government authorities had approached the High Court on September 30 seeking approval under Article 295 regarding creation of a district in KP to improve living conditions in the area which is already under heavy burden of development projects. It had sought an order that will allow the formation of two districts namely Bahawalpur-Chakwal and Jalandhar-Lahore with administrative and judicial wings.

Pakistan has been trying to create another sub-province in KP from Gilgit-Baltistan to ensure that the entire country is benefited from this move. A special meeting has been held in Islamabad to review the matter and to come out with a decision. On October 29 last year, Minister for Information Senator Shibli Faraz said that he had been told by the Governor general about the proposal, adding that it was discussed during his visit to Gilgit-Baltistan as also between President Dr Arif Ali Khan and Prime Minister Imran Khan.
